To Build Or Not To Build…

Posted by Dani Kartika on

Congratulations if you’re reading this, because that means that you are one of the few people that are thinking of taking the plunge towards achieving the Great Australian Dream of building your first house!

Of course, if you are thinking about taking the plunge, I’m sure by now you have also realised that building your own home is a complex process and you might be wondering if it’s even worth it by this stage.

Some builders even make this process even more confusing and this can scare a lot of people into thinking that building a house of their own needs to be a difficult task. Often this is to try and out-do their competition by making it seem like they are doing more for the client when in reality, they are all selling the same product.

Unfortunately, it seems like you really need to understand the game in order to be able to build your house with full control. This is like asking you to be a lawyer, before you can hire one! It’s ludicrous, but this is the way the building industry has worked for the last century or so.

Well, we’re over it.

The sad reality, is that trying to build a single storey, 4 bedroom home with $300k or less is virtually impossible these days. Well, it is with the current system which allows for branding and advertising costs, display homes to be built, sales staff commissions and other expenses. These are then paid for out of their clients’ budgets which means that your $300k is considerably less than that before you even start.

We are offering a new way of looking at building homes, with standardised plans that have been specifically designed to fit on most Sydney-based blocks – including narrow and odd-shaped land parcels – as well as quality, designer fittings and a standard, flat-rate fee for service. This all saves you money in the long run and allows you to build your dream home with designer finish and quality that will last.

Welcome to The Wholesale Builder, just another typical builder, but a straight-to-the-point, no fluff builder that actually puts this blog to shame for not getting to the point yet!

To begin with, let’s take a look at Building a House 101:

  • Finance – You need to work out what sort of a budget you are working with. This aspect includes your deposit, organising your home loan and knowing what fees and charges you are going to need to pay.
  • Find Land – You will need to find somewhere to build your dream home.
  • Find builder – You will need to find someone to build your dream home.
  • Meet expectations – Start with your dream home/idea and by the end you will have a whole new world of discoveries!

The biggest problem is that, for those who start with $300k to build a home, the extra costs come out of that money and this means that you need to find a builder that is going to make sure that the least amount of your budget possible gets filtered away towards things that are not building your dream home.

This is where the Wholesale builder comes in:

  1. We studied all new released lots in Sydney over the past 2 years and pre-designed floor layout that work for narrower and odd-shaped blocks in new releases. You just browse what works for you from our range, free of charge.
  2. When it comes to home style and finishes, mass production is the way to go in order to get the best price. This is why we sought out 3 stylish designs that were not cheap at all, and then we ordered enough of them to bring the prices down! While this approach may not be for everyone, if you are on a budget and are looking to have an awesome finish to your home without the price tag, we have you covered.
  3. We are the real deal. This means that your house will be fully complete, turnkey ready and all yours within your budget. We don’t cut corners or make anything look cheap, because that would defeat the purpose of point 2 as well as our entire wholesale builder concept. We achieve awesome designer finished homes at affordable prices because we have the scale and standardised options for home styles, which reduces back end costs, strengthening our supplies purchasing power and much more.

You can thank us when you move into your brand new, designer finish home!
